Meet The Band!

April Blair (Vocals) studied voice at the Eastman School of Music in Rochester, NY. She has been lead singer with A Moment's Notice for over three years. She sang with Basically Treblemakers Big Band for two years and has sung with Blue Thunder, The Dynamics, the Jonathan Feldman Trio, the Peachie Nietzches and has performed on stage with Wild Wimmin ETCetera Theater Company. Her varied jazz and R&B influences always add a diverse and swinging feel to all her performances.

Jon Seiger (Vocals, piano, trumpet, trombone) studied with Jimmy Giuffre, John McNeill, and trumpet great Roy Eldridge, and is a graduate of the New England Conservatory of Music. Jon has played with such notables as The Drifters, The Shirelles, Ella Fitzgerald, Doc Cheatham, Marty Napoleon, Joe Muranyi, Dick Katz, Chuck Folds, Maynard Ferguson, Billy Eckstine, Arvell Shaw, Panama Francis, Joe Williams, Bob Haggart, Oliver Jackson , Bobby Pratt , Johnny and Edgar Winter, Barrett Deems, and many others. In 1988 he performed at Carnegie Hall with the Hi-Tops. Jon was the house bandleader at The King Cole Room at The St. Regis Hotel in New York City for 3 years. Jon is the director of the Allen's Hill Gospel Choir, which performs regularly and has opened for the Oak Ridge Boys. Although hearing impaired, he swings with the Metropolitan Stompers,plays with The Bourbon Street Jazz Band and The Rhythm Aces, and makes weekly appearances in New York City.

Nate Coffey (Bass and Vocals) has been with the bandsince the beginning , sometimes on bass and sometimes on guitar. He has studied with Dave Frankenpohl, Steve Green, and at the Berklee College of Music, in Boston. Nate has played with B.C. Enterprise, his father's band, for many years, and has also worked with Marshall James, Funk You, Craig Snyder, Flor De Luna, Johnny Winter, Leon Russel, The Toasters, The Bosstones, and many others. Last year Nate worked in the orchestra at the Geva Theater in Rochester, NY, with Garth Fagan Dance Company. Nate currently works with The Metropolitan Stompers, teaches guitar at Northfield Music and privately, and makes appearances with other bands.

Vinnie French (Guitar and Vocals) , has been with the band almost two years. Vinnie brings a lot of experience to the band (he taught himself guitar at age 9 !). He has performed as a solo act, and was on the road with The Oxford Watch Band and August One. He has played with Bo Diddley, Bill Bartlet, The Fanatics, The Distinctions, Canned Heat, Motivation, The J. Johnson Quintet, Sunny Monday, and has opened for Bread and Sugar Loaf. Vinnie plays a wide variety of styles, and helps keep our sound varied and interesting.

Jared Strief (Drums) is the newest member of the band. Jared has a Bachelors of Music Degree from Nazareth College in Rochester, NY.  Jared has studied with Kristen Shiner, Jon Seiger, Ross Miller, Giff Howarth, and Rich Thompson, and performed with the Nazareth Jazz Ensemble, Percussion Ensemble, Brass Quintet (on trumpet), and Jazz Choir. He plays trumpet with the Rhythm Aces (the official band of the Penfield Rotary), and has performed with the Metropolitan Stompers, Nik and the Nice Guys, and many other groups. Jared taught music at Northwood Elementary School, and currently teaches Instrumental Music at Hilton High School. Jared also leads his own band, The Half Ton Horns.
